Job Description: Smart Contract / Blockchain Engineer

Company: Developer Camp (https://developer.camparrow-up-right) Location: US (Remote) Position Type: Contract-to-Hire

About Developer Camp

Developer Camp is a global nonprofit with an 18-year track record of turning early-stage ideas into enduring impact. Through a distinctive, three-day hackathon model and year-round programs, we cultivate communities of builders who create open-source projects, mission-driven companies, and public-benefit technologies. Our alumni outcomes include public companies, widely adopted open-source initiatives, and a self-reinforcing culture of mentorship and giving back.

About the Project: Autonomous Blockchain Transaction System

Are you up to the challenge? We are building a blockchain transaction system that enables cryptocurrency token purchases based on specific parameters and rules that are pre-defined and then implemented in a binding way without the need for human interaction once the system has been initiated. The code needs to be a secure encapsulated instance that can easily be added to any tech stack to facilitate the acquisition of tokens based on a secure API transaction from a host system. The system will need to be flexible enough to span multiple different existing blockchain implementations and store the purchases in a secure automated fashion that ensures both the security and validation of transactions. The system also needs to understand the intricacies of sending tokens to separate wallets on different platforms without the traditional complexity of manual human interaction. All configurations, actions, and validations will need to be tracked and visualized through a simple to understand dashboard with both a public facing interface and a separate private access controlled administrative function and information set. Upon completion of this Autonomous Blockchain Transaction System, the code base will be validated by industry experts and released as an open-source project to benefit organizations and entities who would normally not have the ability to participate in the blockchain ecosystem. Help us create a new simplified and open system based on blockchain that benefits all of society.

Responsibilities

As a Smart Contract / Blockchain Engineer, you will be a core contributor to the open source project. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, developing, and deploying secure and efficient smart contracts on Ethereum and Solana.

  • Integrating the system with decentralized exchanges (DEXs) and swap protocols, with a focus on Jupiter for Solana-based transactions.

  • Building and maintaining the system's wallet infrastructure, including funding mechanisms and purchasing APIs.

  • Developing the input API for triggers, enabling the system to respond to a variety of metrics such as API usage and MRR.

  • Implementing and managing the system's fee structure and optional token-sending functionalities.

  • Creating and maintaining a public-facing dashboard to display program participants and other relevant data.

  • Writing comprehensive documentation and contributing to the open-source community.

  • Collaborating with the Developer Camp team to ensure the project's success and long-term sustainability.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in smart contract development, with a proven track record of deploying secure, audited contracts on mainnet.

  • Proficiency in both Solidity (for Ethereum) and Rust (for Solana).

  • Experience with multi-chain development and an understanding of the architectural differences between Ethereum and Solana.

  • Demonstrated experience with DeFi protocols, including DEX integration and automated market makers (AMMs).

  • Strong understanding of smart contract security best practices, including gas optimization and vulnerability mitigation.

  • Experience with blockchain development tools such as Hardhat, Foundry, and Anchor.

  • Familiarity with web3 libraries like Ethers.js or Web3.js.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Bitcoin application development.

  • Familiarity with oracle networks like Chainlink for off-chain data integration.

  • Experience with front-end development for creating dashboards and user interfaces.

  • Contributions to open-source projects in the blockchain space.

  • An interest in the intersection of AI and blockchain technologies.
